Overview

Udaypur Wildlife Sanctuary (also spelled Udaipur) is a protected wetland sanctuary in the West Champaran district of Bihar, on an oxbow lake of the Gandaki River. Established in 1978, it spans approximately 8.74 km² and is managed by the Champaran Forest Division. The sanctuary’s mosaic of swamp forest, khair-sissoo forest, and riverine belts supports a rich assemblage of resident and migratory bird species, making it a premier birdwatching destination in Bihar.
