Manjhar Kund is a cascading waterfall situated on the Kav River in the Kaimur Range near Sasaram, Rohtas district. Although its height is a modest 4.5 meters, the fall fans out to an average width of 50 meters, creating a broad curtain of water that’s especially impressive during the monsoon season. Surrounded by lush hills and dense forest, Manjhar Kund forms a shallow pool at its base, making it an ideal spot for picnics and nature photography.
Located about 15 km from Sasaram, the waterfall can be reached within 30 minutes via a short drive up the Kaimur foothills. Local tradition holds an annual fair here on the first Sunday after Raksha Bandhan, drawing thousands of visitors for both religious observance and leisure.
Manjhar Kund is nestled within the dense green cover of the Kaimur Range. The falls cascade over rocky terraces, surrounded by steep cliffs carpeted in monsoon-green vegetation, making it a photographer’s delight.
