Kusheshwar Asthan Bird Sanctuary is one of Bihar’s premier winter birding destinations, located near Madhepura. Established along the Darbhanga–Madhepura route, it attracts migratory waterfowl from Siberia, Central Asia, and Europe between November and February. Spread over wetlands, paddy fields, and temple ponds, it is famous for its vast congregations of Bar-headed geese, Common Teal, Northern Pintail, and thousands of other waterbirds. Birdwatchers, nature photographers, and ecology enthusiasts flock here to witness the avian spectacle.
